  • @MiguelGuerreiro@ecoevo.social I’m getting my BS in the “ecology” discipline for my environmental science degree (and I am a lifelong scholar of biology and nature in general) , does this count?😹

@MiguelGuerreiro@ecoevo.social I am a graduate botanist working in ecological restoration and land management in southeastern Australia. A couple of other biology focused accounts I follow, that post regularly here: @joncounts@mastodon.nz @futurebird@sauropods.win @alexwild@mastodon.online

@MiguelGuerreiro@ecoevo.social for everything clams, @dantheclamman@scicomm.xyz is the man. Or any bivalves really. Just don't ask him about arthropods, the last person who did that, we never found the body...

  • @MiguelGuerreiro@ecoevo.social Hi Miguel, welcome! You might find some useful accounts to follow at https://fedi.directory/tag/biology To follow an account listed on the site, copy-paste its Fediverse address and paste it into the search box in Mastodon. I would especially recommend @dantheclamman@scicomm.xyz

  • @MiguelGuerreiro@ecoevo.social Did my B.S. in microbiology, but I've been 18 years now in environmental compliance. Sadly, have forgotten much of my educational background since I didn't up in parks like I'd hoped.

@MiguelGuerreiro@ecoevo.social Post on all sorts of things, not primarily biology. But it was my day job for decades: evolutionary biology, also molecular systematics. Research focus: terrestrial orchids, parasitic plants. (And for anyone who wonders why, given the choice, I didn't stick with alien orchids, terrestrial in this context means growing on the ground. Not up in trees like epiphytic orchids.)
