I did read a lot of @_elena@mastodon.social on #wsocial, especially the Ghosttown one. And I had two questions on me: Is the "W" in wsocial for winning? And is this "Ghosttown" winning*? Luckily, wsocial is built on top of Atproto and uses a PDS, and this has a public API. I created a 3D-printed version of the @FediverseSymbol@typo.social ⁂ as a simple coin. It has roughly the size of a €2 coin and can be found here: https://3dprint.social/models/tsx6w81ggtxm. There is a multicolour version and single-colour cut-out versions for either magnets, coins or key tags. The cut-out version is not very stable, but it works OK. It took some night tinkering around, but I built a proof of concept with @fedify, with 1) a shop software that creates and sends offers/products, 2) to the following marketplaces. The marketplace aggregates these offers and all via activitipub, so in the fediverse. You can find the proof of concept here: https://marketplace.playground.54gradsoftware.de/. Thanks to @kekskurse, the project has evolved from an idea into hacky software. All you need to do is install @owntracks and configure the correct server. You can then log in to the custom server software via the web GUI. After that, you can select people with whom to share your location, but more importantly, you can see which hexagons you have already visited. TIL: Hexagon is Bestagon, and a mapping for global hexagon networks exists. This could be really interesting geo base in combination with @owntracks to build a social capture game. Like, how many hexagons did you capture (has been the last) compared with your friend group, instance or globally. https://h3geo.org/ &gt; H3 is a discrete global grid system for indexing geographies into a hexagonal grid, developed at Uber.
