🚨 new #preprint online! 🚨 We study structure-stability relations in #MultiplexNetworks , using #tree-#liana interaction #networks from #Ghana as inspiration. We show that the stabilising effect of #modularity heavily depends on intra-guild interactions and is largest in case of intra-guild facilitation, highlighting the need to study how patterns in inter- and intraguild interactions jointly affect #EcosystemStability. #TheoreticalEcology #EcologicalNetworks https://doi.org/10.64898/2026.0...

Ho, what a week for my group. - One paper rejected (by 4 reviewers, ouch!) - Another paper revised and resubmitted - A third paper submitted to bioRxiv - and 5 (!) excellent conference talks delivered! Time to wind down. I’m a very #proudPI.

🚨 new #preprint 🚨 The evolutionary emergence of #EcologicalNetworks has been studied for decades but usually focussing on one type of interaction at a time, even though organisms naturally engage in multiple interaction types simultaneously. The combined effect of different interaction types on diversification thus remains unclear - until now. 😜 I hope you enjoy reading this fascinating story about ecological #pleiotropy and how it shapes #diversification patterns! https://www.biorxiv.org/c...

I’m on my way home after a really nice and inspiring #MPDEE #conference in #Leicester. I think my talk was a success but it’s kind of sad to think about how many hours I spend preparing it... So, just in case you want to learn about #EvolutionaryRescue and it’s counterpart, #EvolutionaryMurder, please let me know, I would be happy to recycle those slides for another occasion! #AcademicChatter #academia #TheoreticalEcology #EcologicalModelling

I gave a #seminar on the #ImposterSyndrome today and this is the key outcome. If you are feeling like a fraud, then you are definitely not alone. These feelings are actually a good sign, because they show that you are growing and learning and challenging yourself to do great research. Talking about it can help a lot!! 😊 #AcademicChatter
