@kevinbowen@hachyderm.io @nekohayo@mastodon.social Is your fork command busted?

@kevinbowen@hachyderm.io @nekohayo@mastodon.social Shocking! It is clear that upstream devs entered the conversation already frustrated. Is a shame that they had already made up their minds on the outcome and didn't want a conversion. And here I was thinking open source was about communication and collaboration.

@kevinbowen@hachyderm.io @nekohayo@mastodon.social What the fuck are you talking about? Stop sea lioning and grow up. Clem is not fit to be managing a distro. Entire Linux Mint is just a sad experiment of people who should never manage a distro. I wonder what you would think if Mint packaged 10 years old Thunar version and people would complain your way.

@kevinbowen@hachyderm.io They were too agro, but imo upstream has a point here. If users are taking up time due to bugs on outdated versions, that is an unnecessary resource drain on the project. That is a problem that could be solved by e.g. having a patch that changes the support link to the mint issue-tracker rather than the one to gnome calendar's so Mint can triage and forward issues when they're still relevant.
