If we're going to be *literal* about this, he's technically a ghost in the Odyssey anyway. I'm not sure that chromosomes persist in the underworld, although that may be because chromosomes hadn't been invented yet.
In my experience, most attempts to co-opt classical material for modern fascism haven't read the Iliad either.
