Contemplating transitioning off Linux to #FreeBSD or #NetBSD but worried about #accessibility. Does anyone have experience of using #braille displays with the BSDs? I think BRLTTY claims to run on those platforms, but I have found FreeBSD documentation disclaiming support for braille devices, but perhaps this is outdated.

The problem for #Labour is that it is not just #Starmer that is the problem. It is also all those that have gone along with the right-wing Labour project. To be sure, Starmer is a convenient focus, but we repeatedly heard on the doorstep that Labour collectively was being rejected. There are not many in the Cabinet that are not tainted, although some (e.g. Streeting) more than others. One reason #Sarwar was unable to distance himself from Starmer was his own descent into right-wing tropes.

I haven't updated for a while: I spent yesterday at the Glasgow count, and I couldn't face using my phone, it was that tense. And joyous. So I wrote a blog post about the @ScottishGreens result in Glasgow. http://artemisia.scot/blog/2026/05/09/feminism-southside/

I support Crisis’ campaign to end homelessness in Scotland by 2040. Together, we can ensure nobody in Scotland suffers the trauma of homelessness ever again, and end homelessness for good. #ScotPol #Crisis @ScottishGreens

So they let me out this evening to do a hustings convened by SightScotland. ASs the only sight-impaired person on the panel, I was inwardly howling with laughter as the sighted reps responded to practically every question by stressing the importance of lived experience. This obviously didn't include the hustings itself. Bonus marks for the #Labour guy for ableist mansplaining of how to do something in zoom with reference to the mouse and visual appearance of the interface. /1 #ScotPol...

Slumped at home after the Glasgow South Side unity march to Kenmure Street. Good to see a strong Green turnout. Absolutely shattered after a couple of weeks' solid canvassing and a trip to Londn midweek for a trans history summit. My Fitbit, of course, remains resolutely unimpressed.

Shamefully, #Labour have not only embraced #transphobia, they have backtracked on their commitment to ending conversion practices. I am proud to have been among the first 20 candidates to sign this pledge.

Since this is #trans day of visibility, it seems an appropriate moment to mention that I am standing for election to the Scottish Parliament on the Glasgow regional list for the @ScottishGreens@mastodon.scot. Good luck to all the other trans and non-binary Greens who are standing across the country as part of our most diverse set of candidates yet. Given the encouraging polls and the state of competing parties, I am very hopeful that one or more of you will be making history in May. #ScotPo...

OK this is a stupid question, but why have Linux projects (apparently) fallen over themselves to comply with an age-recording statute in a single US state (albeit a large one), when those projects have been failing for decades to respect national and even international law regarding disability? #accessibility #disability #linux #FreeSoftware #fascism #AgeVerification #infantilism
