@annecavicchi@mindly.social If they pursue and attack and get close enough for me to wring their neck, that's what will happen.

@annecavicchi@mindly.social I miss the Canadian geese when they go back home. Theyโre rather comical.

@annecavicchi@mindly.social Does anyone else find it weird that the species of goose named for Canada has the polar opposite personality of Canadian humans?

@annecavicchi@mindly.social I was walking down a river path once and the geese were hissing at people. I was used to it, but there was someone on the path that was not used to it, and they were about to turn around and use a different path, so I offered to escort them past the geese, and they got where they were going!

@annecavicchi@mindly.social Haha. The region where we live , north of Amsterdam all the way up to the islands above, part of them German, is favourite for migrating birds. Many wetlands. Our city 20 km is super-favourite for Canadian goose: They will block the busiest traffic-crossings for weeks. Sometimes they are taken in by masses, flown to Canada by plane. We never hear about them being aggressive. They just walk there like tourists do.

@annecavicchi@mindly.social we have a duck couple living on our pond, they waddle over for food and quack ๐ I have named them, Peter (green head) and Sunny - she always eats first while he guards her back ๐

@annecavicchi@mindly.social I saw a report of a man who was killed by a swan that he had employed to keep the geese away from his property.

@annecavicchi@mindly.social In this corner of England we respect the Canadian Battlegeese. Not much choice, they're everywhere ๐
