@bgeerdes@mastodon.cloud @gruber@mastodon.social IIRC, it was because if you read RTL it makes sense to put the most common action in the final position that you would read so you don’t have to go back. Also, I think they had an argument that logically left is backward/undo-type actions (Cancel, Don’t Save) and right is forward/progress-type ones (OK, Save). And, lastly, it matches order of the Esc and Return keys on the keyboard.

@mjtsai@mastodon.social @bgeerdes@mastodon.cloud I never thought about the Esc / Return key order. I suspect that's a happy coincidence. But if think about OK as "Next" and Cancel as "Back" -- which is often what they mean, and sometimes the default button was or is named "Next" explicitly, the order makes intuitive sense. It just feels right.
