@sgued@pouet.chapril.org Have you considered geopolitical tensions in an industry where 85% of the whole supply chain (!) is controlled by a single authoritarian country? That’s the PV market today and includes not only the panels but also backdoored inverters…

Plenty of other countries and companies can produce panels. LG, who are Korean, make a lot of PV. Also, once purchased, they keep running without requiring approval and new shipments from an authoritarian country, so your fears are somewhat overblown. @kravietz@agora.echelon.pl @sgued@pouet.chapril.org

There’s really something out of balance in this orgy of alternative energy because the amount of resources needed to build them, the aluminum steel, the concrete and everything else that goes into it on is extracted with planet killing processes. You get aluminum out of the ground by killing the ecosystem over the deposit. It’s processing includes puddles of toxic waste.
