figured i should bring this up i have a vintage (published in 1980) TRS-80 BASIC booklet targeted towards educators in my possession; unfortunately it's not in the best shape however, with discoloring, some coffee stains, and pen markings inside despite this, however, i've scanned it to PDF in the best quality i could manage; if anyone could help give suggestions regarding how i could clean it up/split the pages for upload to somewhere like archive.org that would be greatly appreciated

(elaborating on what i mean by "split the pages"; the scan has two different pages aligned on a single page horizontally, i don't work with pdf files often so i'm unaware of what the best tools to use for this kind of thing would be)

@esm@wetdry.world ScanTailor is the best tool for cleaning up book (and other) scans, in my opinion: https://scantailor.org/ It can do everything you mentioned needing to be able to do

@esm@wetdry.world I use rescribe (https://rescribe.xyz/) for OCRing PDFs and PDF Arrange (https://github.com/pdfarranger/pdfarranger) for simple arranging and deleting PDFs as it has a nice interface. (I use these on :tux: but they have :microsoft: ports)

@esm@wetdry.world Scantailor Advanced is what I've had recommended to me. I usually do crop/split work with python or shell scripts and either PILLOW or Imagemagick respectively. It usually ends up being a fixed page size with a variable start/stop offset.
