(elaborating on what i mean by "split the pages"; the scan has two different pages aligned on a single page horizontally, i don't work with pdf files often so i'm unaware of what the best tools to use for this kind of thing would be)

@esm@wetdry.world In terms of open source options, the best tool I have used is ScanTailor. Its user interface is a bit complicated, but once you get used to it you can really improve the quality of your book scans.

@esm@wetdry.world Sorry for getting back to this late (work, yaknow). MuPDF has a tool called mutool that can (among many other things) split a PDF's pages into pieces. Sounds like what you were looking for?
