@cliffwade@infosec.exchange I really hope that this somehow goes through. Because I haven't found a launcher that actually replaces Nova for me. Nova's a bit buggy for me right now but even then I prefer using it over other launchers

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange I really hope this gets somewhere. I've been using Nova since 2013. I've tried others but there always missing that one little thing to make me jump ship.

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange Thanks Cliff. It's really lame of them. I don't understand why they wanted to buy the software in the first place if they were just going to let it die. I've been using it for at least 10 years now

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange Your name got dropped on slashdot! (I know /. is not as popular as it used to be but is still nice): https://tech.slashdot.org/story/25/09/08/2050202/nova-launchers-founder-and-sole-developer-has-left

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange Nova has been my launcher for over a decade. Hard to find a replacement but ever since Branch entered the equation I found an alternative called Pear Launcher which is the most similar alternative I've found... But I miss Nova.

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange that launcher is still a thing? I used it in like 2011 or 2012 on android 2.2, and then never again

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange Hmm, that's a dick move. I assume they want to make money off of it.

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange I share your view. I use Nova Launcher since idk 10 years? and started to pay for it too because it's so bullshit-free. It's sad to read this at the same time. You have my back. I sincerely hope this route doesn't lead to enshittification...

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange Once novalauncher kind of started getting corporate, I ended up switching to Unlauncher...

@cliffwade@infosec.exchange once they went corporate I swapped out for Hyperion. I hope it becomes good again
