    @scott@carfree.city a short handful of months ago, Oakland switched a substantial number of pedestrian crosswalks in Rockridge/Temescal to require you to push the button to get permission to cross, even on your parallel green light. Before they just automatically activated.

    @scott@carfree.city Santa Cruz has one of these at an intersection we cross often, and our household joke is that it means "push button, receive bicycle"
