@kekemui@gamepad.club one constant frustration of mine with 4X games is how much military just is better than all else. The real world has much more to it than military.

@bearmine@gamepad.club So, I mean, I _was_ able to fight a defensive war on unequal footing against another civ, so it wasn't completely imbalanced. I was able to use econ, tech, and topography (hyperspace lanes) advantages to compensate for not carrying a large standing navy. The problem is that at some magnitude, it is just "Number Bigger", and also with the threat starting within my civ instead of outside... (teal are my settlements, box is where the invasion spawned) (two 🖼️: last manual / autosave)
