@bearmine@gamepad.club So, I mean, I _was_ able to fight a defensive war on unequal footing against another civ, so it wasn't completely imbalanced. I was able to use econ, tech, and topography (hyperspace lanes) advantages to compensate for not carrying a large standing navy. The problem is that at some magnitude, it is just "Number Bigger", and also with the threat starting within my civ instead of outside...
