@wendinoakland@beige.party I'm on board with the message but not using Calvin & Hobbes to deliver it

@wendinoakland@beige.party For the same reason Bill Watterson never licensed Calvin & Hobbes, he never wanted it to be used for commercial purposes. Or political, so don't.

@wendinoakland@beige.party @tezoatlipoca@mas.to It’s no accident the most unqualified white people are so eager to get rid of it.

@wendinoakland@beige.party @dalias@hachyderm.io Weirds me out deeply that this happens at all. USA and corposcum in general are incomprehensible (you'd think not self-sabotaging would be covered by business operations 101 but apparently not).

@wendinoakland@beige.party That's exactly what the MAGAs actually complain about. Nobody would hire these idiots if there wasn't a racist bias towards them.

@wendinoakland@beige.party Did you create this or know the author of the words? I like the statement and want to credit the author when re-sharing, since I’m pretty sure they’re not Watterson’s words.

@wendinoakland@beige.party the only folks complaining are the lower qualified white dudes who feel they should be at the front just because they are white. Telling them they are lower qualified doesn't work because they simply cannot process that world view. Oh and racists.

@wendinoakland@beige.party I love this, but it's also hard, because the people who most need to understand this are middlingly-qualified white men who were at some point passed over in favor of exceptionally-qualified minorities, and who have built their self-image on the understanding that this was actually a moment when they, an exceptionally-qualified white man, were passed over in favor of a middlingly-qualified minority-hire. Internalizing this understanding of DEI means reconstructing your self-image in a very painful way.
