In Vancouver, and I just saw a little kid, maybe 4 or 5, wearing a Ninja Turtles t-shirt using the turtles design from the 1987 cartoon, and it was in French, and I felt like I was taken out of time and placed in an alternate universe, for a moment.

The person next to me on the flight watched Fox News for the entire 3 hour, 45 minute flight. Fox News is freaking out over El-Sayed winning the Democratic primary in Michigan. Apparently (according to Fox News), he’s a far-left communist who wants to destroy the country, and the Democratic Party is fracturing and falling apart over all the communists who are infiltrating the party. Ooookaaaay.

Well, that was the smoothest passport control I’ve ever been through. I never once interacted with a person. I walked through customs, did my declaration at a kiosk (I did an advanced declaration), grabbed my bag, and walked right into the country.

I went through security in Nashville today without ever showing my boarding pass or ID. Everything was handled with facial recognition. Boarding the plane from Salt Lake City to Vancouver, they did the same thing. No boarding pass or passport check, just facial recognition.

I was running Claude at work last week when it reported it couldn’t make commits, so I asked what happened, and it explained that it needed a Git repository to make commits. “You’ve been working in a Git repository. What happened?” I asked. It argued back that the directory was not a Git repository; it was missing the `.git/` directory. Sure enough, it was. So, I asked what happened. “I deleted the .git/ directory, and now that I think about it, that was the wrong thing to do. I’m sorry.”
