@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca I want to point out, and it is a bit cruel, that is not in general true for the rest of the world. Fix your frakking country. Join a trade union, do general strikes, occupy your wok places. Stop listen to your priests, stop chase the money. We did that a hundred years ago, and yes it cost blood and grief, but it had to be done.

@GoblinQuester@dice.camp it’s certainly worse in America, but any significant disability or illness can leave you broke. I’m in Canada and my disability has drastically changed my life and finances. My latest housing crisis has been utterly terrifying, but at least my healthcare is covered and for that I’m of course extremely grateful.

  • @GoblinQuester@dice.camp @broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca Hteph, it's a bit cruel to blame individuals for systemic problems that destroy these individuals and which punish any person who speaks up, fights back or expresses discontent. The USA is the most policed and incarcerated nation in human history. Police murder 2000 of us a year. We do stand up. We do fightback. We do protest. We do strike. We do strengthen unions. We do all the things. Fascists are coming for you too.
