@GoblinQuester@dice.camp it’s certainly worse in America, but any significant disability or illness can leave you broke. I’m in Canada and my disability has drastically changed my life and finances. My latest housing crisis has been utterly terrifying, but at least my healthcare is covered and for that I’m of course extremely grateful.

@broadwaybabyto@zeroes.ca As I understand it Canada have a bit of a half-n-half system? Here in Sweden we are still failing those who falls into the trap of addictions of various sorts. But outside of that you will never be homeless, it will perhaps not be the best home or in the place you want. But you will have roof over your head and the basics of life. It is of course under attack from the current conservative-fascist supported government, but we still can fight that at the poll stations.
