@hayesstw@c.im The only time I've driven an automatic is rental cars on vacations. I've never owned an automatic in all my many years of driving.

@hayesstw@c.im No. But I can't drive at all due to my visual disability. So perhaps I shouldn't have voted, because now I think of it, you probably intended it for people who can drive in general. :-) Maybe delete and re-do the poll with an "I can't drive at all" option?

@hayesstw@c.im I prefer to, but when we bought our new Mazda 3 we would have had to have bought a more expensive model to get the full manual transmission but we got the Mazda 3 Sport with a clutchless manual mode.

@hayesstw@c.im The numbers would probably flip if you limited it to Americans. I'm American and drove a manual for my entire life until my most recent car. But most of the Americans I know can't do it.

@hayesstw@c.im I feel like it is a skill that is aging out. Less cars sold with a manual gearbox makes it harder to train a new generation.
