@hayesstw@c.im I feel like it is a skill that is aging out. Less cars sold with a manual gearbox makes it harder to train a new generation.

@haakon@aus.social My wife & I have a Toyota Yaris manual, and a Subary stationwagon automatic; the latter was second-hand so there was no choice. Prefer the automatic in stop-gp traffic, manual on the open road. But recently got to drive a Toyota with CVD automatic and it was *horrible* to drive. Engine revs uncontrollable all over the place, in the wrong gear when you want to accelerate , screaming high revs when you don't.
