@clew@ecoevo.social If it was a joke, an amusing illustration, a poke in the ribs, then fine. I think it is witty and pointed, and fun. If it is in any sense serious, then it is horrific. Let's start with "Do you have more relevant experience" Not only would that be extraordinarily hard to evaluate with any reliability in realtime events, but even worse, it is ENTIRELY irrelevant. A trainee nurse can and SHOULD be able to hold up a hand and say STOP to the most senior surgeon in the world @michcampbell@fediscience.org

    Not always, no. “Stop, that’s the liver”, yes. “Stop, vaccines are a hoax”, not if they expect to keep their relevant job. If you’ve shifted the ground from explanations to emergencies, why? @screwturn@mastodon.social @michcampbell@fediscience.org

    Also! Like heck is it always difficult to tell who has more expertise! The canonical example is someone mis-explaining the contents of a book he read once *to its author*. @screwturn@mastodon.social @michcampbell@fediscience.org
