Found a truckload (20+) of Lenovo OneLink Pro laptop docks ๐Ÿค” These are obviously not the newest stuff and have been superseded by USB-C years ago, but maybe some school or hackspace is running a bunch of older ThinkPads and could use them? Any suggestions? Would give the whole lot away for shipping costs. #thinkpad #recycling #fediGive

Update: found a local non-profit IT refurbisher, Nordvirk, and donated the whole lot ๐Ÿ‘ And if you're in Aalborg and in the market for some IT equipment, give them a look: https://nordvirkit.dk/

@floe@hci.social might be good to see if they are compatible with any Librebootable ThinkPads. There is quite a big demand for those. @libreleah@mas.to would be the prime expert :)

@floe@hci.social FWIW I think USB-C docks were a massive step backwards from proprietary dock connectors. Look at the dock cable for your Dell the wrong way and you need a new motherboard, proprietary dock hardware from twenty years ago still works fine.

@floe@hci.social These are ok for everything except graphics. The chip vendor had an actively hostile attitude towards floss, so no driver support outside of windows.

@floe@hci.social how old exactly? I have a ThinkPad from mid 90s that might use one of these? Edit: nevermind I see they're Lenovo, mine is from the IBM days lol
