@lint @foone The copies on the Internet Archive are useless because digitization breaks the data. There is data hidden in the vertical blanking interval that is only preserved in a purely analog copy. If I send you a tape, it will work.
(Edit: I misread what you wrote. If Foone got one of the digitized copies to work, this is news to me, because it should be impossible.)
You should watch my video about the system. It is the most complete source of information about it, and corrects some myths and incorrect info made by other people :)

@themaritimegirl @lint yeah, I never got the digitized versions to work. I have a couple tapes (including some extra graphics libraries) and I need to set up some kind of VHS archival setup so I can capture the full thing, including the VBI, but I haven't done that yet

@themaritimegirl @lint @foone as soon as i figure out where I last put my domesday duplicator, I'll be able to grab a proper rip of my DirectED tape- it'll be missing the sound, but I expect it'd have all the data needed to boot.
