@Maes_Matt@toot.community @sean_ae@post.lurk.org @defaultmediatransmitter@social.bitwig.community @Cognessence@social.linux.pizza Around 2005 I used to play live sometimes at this crap bar in East London that had a few pool tables in the basement. One night I was in the middle of my live set (to a mostly empty room) - a guy playing pool walks over to the booth, leans over the mixer and shouts in my ear "Hey man can you change the record?"

I was doing a live set with a synth, pedals and laptop and a guy came up with it a beer in hand and shouted “can you play something different? Something uplifting or good?” I was a bit spicier back then - and more annoyed he’d assumed I was DJ-ing - so I made everything even weirder. It was one of those hippie gigs in a barn where people were so wired anyone could play pretty much anything / any sound, and they’d still do the exact same wild, spiritual dance - disturbing how unrelated to the beat it seemed. Thus the judgement was not entirely unanimous like some other occasions. (Except there was no judgement at all, or sanity, beyond this man and a few unimpressed others like him.)

@exinith@mas.to @Maes_Matt@toot.community @sean_ae@post.lurk.org @defaultmediatransmitter@social.bitwig.community @Cognessence@social.linux.pizza totally been there: a guy walking over to the booth when you're doing a live set. 'Can't you play another song?' I said: "OK, no problem," and continued playing the same set.
