I spent a good deal of the day sobbing yesterday. I'm involved in a lawsuit and I had to fill out a really detailed questionnaire which meant I had to look up all these small details and I ended up spending like 6 hours knee deep in horrible memories. I kept getting frustrated and sobbing and my neck hurt and my head was pounding. It was a really bad day. I'm trying to recuperate today. I need happy #funny #movies. What are your favorite happy movies when you need to stop crying and feel some comfort? #cinema #cinephile

@Phangurl@vmst.io When I'm really stressed I watch Howl's Moving Castle. I've seen it so many times it's just reassuring to have it on, but I started to realize it's more than that. I thought it was because the characters were comforting to be around, and that's part of it too. But I finally realized that the whole soundtrack, from the music, to the sound effects, to the voices, is soothing to my every nerve in a way that nothing else does? No idea if that works for anybody else, LOL! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • @Phangurl@vmst.io Iโ€™m sorry to hear that. Iโ€™m usually just watching Star Trek (well not the movies). Otherwise I turn to my favorite, Blade Runner: The Final Cut.

@Phangurl@vmst.io I'd go with a gigantic spliff. Then the choice of viewing material is less critical. "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is way funnier than I remembered. I laugh start to finish at that. Sorry you have to deal with all the agita.

@Phangurl@vmst.io I'm not really one to watch movies for comfort, but I'm sorry you're having a rough go right now and hope the suit plays out in your favor

@Phangurl@vmst.io How far did you get in Stargate Atlantis? Because there is a movie I have been wanting to recommend, but only after you have seen, ahh ... at least a certain episode in season 3. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Its a very oddball comedy, but hard to describe without spoilers, lol! ๐Ÿ˜‚ (Can dark comedy be lighthearted? ๐Ÿ˜†)

  • @Phangurl A little late to the party, and I hope the other suggestions you've gotten have already helped a lot, but in case you're still looking for options: Obviously gotta recommend some Trek, Star Trek IV is always a mood booster for me. I will second the recommendations I've already seen for Hot Fuzz, Big Trouble in Little China, and The Princess Bride. I didn't see anyone recommend The Fifth Element, but it's so big and bright with a banger soundtrack. Instant mood boost for me.
