Am I correct that it would be an occupational therapist who is best trained to help geriatric person figure out how to use TV equipment, etc. She&#39;s losing her sight, but my assessment (from listening in remotely to when she&#39;s had IT and social worker helping her) is that it&#39;s more a cognitive/retention issue than a vision issue. I&#39;m at wits end trying to figure out how to help my MIL without being sucked into hours of hand holding every time she messes up her TV remote. 0_o #OccupationalTherapy

And if anyone has any tips on how to encourage her to use an occupational therapist I'm all ears! She's had two so far. I LOVED the first one, whom she dumped for unknown reasons, the second did not impress me. I get sense my MIL does not want to have OT because it's a struggle. She'd rather family fix things every time she breaks them. :( Except we are all in other states, and even if we weren't... NO!!!

@nomdeb@mstdn.social you'd think some company would find a way to market devices with a 'set back to known condition' button. Let someone set it up, save it to the flash/backup...and then anytime you need it to be reset it's just a button.

@nomdeb@mstdn.social @OddJob@beige.party There are simplified universal remotes to eliminate extra features. Maybe that’s a better approach - just delete the problem.
