I ran out of the house in pjs, hair a mess, and 1 sock on to ask the waste collection guy why he looked in my green bin bag but weren’t taking it. They are the truck for yard collection, he says. I told them yard collection was picked up an hour ago. They said yes, that was them. So why are they driving by… again? The question remains unanswered. #Ottawa

@erin We used to be a very early pickup and now much later in the day. I think they now use 3 trucks for some reason. *sigh*

@erin Sometimes the collection guys get in trouble with their boss for zipping around unexpectedly early and not collecting enough.

@erin my thinking is that the city does the yard waste and every bit of it they pick up saves on the green bin contract. One would think they had a long route to complete but maybe it's an area and a block of time for some reason. Also finishing early might result in them getting a less desirable bit of work at the end of the day, so they drag things out. I've hired contractors here that suddenly become very meticulous about cleaning up to avoid going back to the shop and getting a crappy job for 30 minutes. #Ottawa
