More evidence that turkeys run the world. Car ahead of me on a suburban street stopped and I wondered why until I saw the turkeys crossing the street. It seems we have a lot of turkeys. #Ottawa

What if transit was seen as the prime mode of transportation for a city instead of something in place for those poor people who can't afford a car or those seniors who no longer drive? I mean those poor people we should do something for them! Of course they can't expect it to be as good as owning a car! We can't provide a limousine for everyone! And you people are communists for not wanting to be good consumers and buying an enshittified new car every 5 years like everyone else! #Ot...

This article https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/ottawa-lrt-train-wheel-rail-problem-report-1.7588002 made a lot more sense after reading this article @VE2UWY@mastodon.radio linked https://practical.engineering/blog/2023/10/3/why-are-rails-shaped-like-that If the rails are soft then the wheels are going to dig in and not ride up the wheel at all hence squealing as they dig in. Thank you Jim for a legacy to be proud of! #Ottawa

One of the cool things about bsdcan.org was talking quantum physics with an attendee. Loved it. (I was a mathy physicsy student long long ago...) The intersection of physics with computing is absolutely fascinating. "Entropy is just the Universe's way of telling us to buy more disk space." #BSDCan #Ottawa #Physics
