Almost 50 mm of rain so far in #Ottawa today. IIRC, we were only expecting a couple mm. Maybe this is the next 100 year storm. #onstorm

Driving annoyances 2. #driving You are car 6 waiting at a light controlling a single lane of traffic. We all know that the second car has the responsibility to notify the first car that the light has changed if it seems they did not notice. If they fail, the notifications falls to car 3, and so on. What is more annoying?

I won't miss Renaldo whining at every bit of contact. He's a great player but his career has been tarnished by his whining in my opinion. I won't be taking questions. #WorldCup

I looked at my grocery receipt as I was throwing it out and there was only one taxable thing - plain tortilla chips made from 100% corn and oil absorbed during cooking. I wondered why they are taxable when most other crackers are not. It turns out that CRA has some pretty crazy rules. The thing that mostly seems to make them taxable is that they are made from corn. Corn and potato foods are taxed because they are snacks. Make your cracker from wheat or other flours and it is tax free - e...

I've made significant progress in my #solar power project. I drilled a one inch hole through my house (through 5.5 inches of wood) and now have two of my panels (350 Watts and still temporarily installed) feeding my #ecoflow battery system. The batteries are currently only running my hot water because that was really easy to unplug and plug into the inverter. Next step is to get some panels permanently mounted on the roof. That won't be fun.

Here are some great pictures of what #Ottawa looked like before austerity destroyed it. https://www.bygonely.com/ottawa-late-19th-century/

I found an old burial site in the Rideau canal! What else could it be?

Having to be a certain age to use a certain app or website is stupid. if the app / website is so awful that kids can't see / use them, then they are almost certainly bad things and the government should work to make those responsible for them responsible for them. Hold the corporation responsible accountable for what they are doing to us. None of us will mind. #age #age_verification

It all makes sense now. The province took control of the Toronto Island airport so that one bully can park his plane there. I can't wait to vote him and his party out.

I have one small pile of snow (from shoveling the driveway) left to melt. I expect it will be gone tomorrow. It's a little weird in that it is in the middle of the front yard and not in the shade or anything. It must have been a lot of ice or dune other weird Science.

We are up to 45 mm of rain in this rainy phase (starting on Sunday).

I'm starting to see some ice build up on my clothesline. I use it to gauge how the overhead wires are doing. #onstorm

Time to put away the Christmas tree. We undecorated it in January but used the lights for ambient lighting until the time change.

I can never believe all the complaining about the #TimeChange (buy only via #dst). People talk about the ordeal of physically changing the time on clocks, most of which probably change on their own. Their calendars (unless you use Microsoft) all change automatically. It really is not hard. It is exactly as hard as taking an east west flight over over two hours because your phone and maybe your watch just adjusts itself. In this situation, everyone complains about the ordeal of air flight aft...

Wow! My passport just arrived. I only left the passport office 6 days ago. I think I spent longer in line than they took to print it. I submitted it on Thursday and they issued it on Monday. Amazing.

It looks like the experimental farm drainage project has started back up. There's an excavator on the road and i was sure they had fixed most of the field they dug up but it doesn't look like that now. @Hansonthebike

Patio area is all shoveled. Some ice where the sun doesn't shine. Chairs are out and have been used. 👍
