Interesting split on this poll. I was expecting it to be closer to 50/50.

@fxworks@weird.autos the Porsche is possibly the objectively better car, but there's a weird tension to the late 928s between GT and sports car, and I'm drawn more to the pure boulevardier character of the Merc. It makes no real pretensions to sportiness, but can be hustled just fine if you want to. Leave it automatic, that goes with the original intent, and works better in the kind of urban environments I'm usually stuck in. Plus, top goes down.

@fxworks@weird.autos the reason I chose the 928 is, itβs the only Porsche I enjoy looking at. Primarily because I like its rear end. Probably because shortly after I first started driving, I liked trying to keep up with them in my Citroen AX-GT π

@fxworks@weird.autos 928 because of its "sportiness", and 2+2 seating. But also agree, if it was a cruiser, top down and auto would be fine for the R129 SL. It depends on which experience is being chased.
