@fxworks@weird.autos the Porsche is possibly the objectively better car, but there's a weird tension to the late 928s between GT and sports car, and I'm drawn more to the pure boulevardier character of the Merc. It makes no real pretensions to sportiness, but can be hustled just fine if you want to. Leave it automatic, that goes with the original intent, and works better in the kind of urban environments I'm usually stuck in. Plus, top goes down.

@autonerdery@weird.autos There's the rub... would I be happy with an auto in the long term. I mean, my trucks are autos and I prefer a truck to be auto but in a car I dunno. Perhaps that flappy paddle kit for the 722 is the least friction and risk.
