Wow, the responses to this! Seems like folks need Steiner Math.

@MediaActivist This is the most scifi sounding article I have read in a long time. Nearly no sentence without a word I have never heard before 😆.

  • @MediaActivist I'll believe a solar panel can operate with 130% efficiency when Donald Trump lowers drug prices by 600%.

@MediaActivist but why do they enjoy these things alone ... Not cool .

  • @MediaActivist The whole thing is nonsense. Take a look at the first subtitles: >> None of the above sentences make any sense. None.

@MediaActivist Interesting story that apparently wasn't dumbed down enough for readers to understand what they were talking about. You could read about spin-flip metal complexes here: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/anie.202213207, and quantum efficiency here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_efficiency, and then you could read the referenced paper here: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jacs.5c20500 and understand that 130% improvement is to the quantum efficiency. Which means more usable energy is captured, than with typical PV cell.

@MediaActivist Uhhhh 130%? How does that even /work?/ Or is that just 130% better than before?
