@kumarvibe@mastodon.social I like it. If they are prepared to take obscenely large pay packets they should be prepared to take personal responsibility for destroying our life support system.

@kumarvibe@mastodon.social Hopefully they'll include extra prison time awards for the money-laundering/shell-company/geniuses they stumble across at the same time!

@kumarvibe@mastodon.social And those who destroy habitat, confiscate that land and take their personal assets to rehabilitated the land. Because fines don’t deter them.

@kumarvibe@mastodon.social Not bad, but will it also prevent companies from hiring new execs who pledge to pollute “less”, with “less” being marginally lower than the last guy such that nothing has to change?

@kumarvibe@mastodon.social - I'd not argue with that. A fine - any fine at all that can be levied by the courts - represents a slap on the wrist to those with excessive wealth. Jail time and confiscation of assets on the other hand might serve to concentrate the minds of those for whom any other penalty is merely "the cost of doing business".

@kumarvibe@mastodon.social Love the concept but isn't the ICC rather toothless e.g. Netanyahu, Putin, Assad &c?

@kumarvibe@mastodon.social it may sound impossible, but probably isn't. The United States of all places already had precedent for this in finding CISOs personally liable for metaphorical pollution 🤔

@kumarvibe@mastodon.social unfortunately in America this would be deemed unconstitutional and they would be shielded by their corporations from liability. Anyone supporting it would be branded a "radical leftist Marxist socialist communist fascist lunatic". Thank goodness not everywhere is America.
