It occurs to me I've been procrastinating about termite damage for 15y+. It was discovered well before I was made redundant^^early retired 11y ago. I had reasons, good ones, but I always do, don't I?🤷🙄 So far: ✅: the house isn't falling down. Sagging, but who isn't? ❌: the house isn't falling down. I was on a run, I could have procrastinated for Australia! ❌: now I have to keep going. I can't live with wall linings off. ✅: now I have to keep going. #MentalHea...

More positively, it was a great ride, apart from the stupid crash & blood. Lots of water bars for jumping—one jump was 7.81m with a hangtime of 0.74s! One of my biggest, for sure! You better believed I whooped & hollered! Possibly providing an *idiot coming* alert to the riders grinding slowly up just around the next corner🙄😂 23km 1hr10 Ascent 843m 1/2 #eMTB #eBike #BlueMountains

Another glorious day. I rode Linden Ridge (no. 2) firetrail, & explored some singletrack. The firetrail is up & down, out & back, lots of water bars for jumping. The singletrack was very slow, overgrown, & occasionally blocked by fallen trees, disappearing after 2.5km in a rocky clearing. I've ridden this track years ago, but recall it ended much earlier. I left it a bit late to also do the Mt Twiss singletrack. Total 34.5km, 1hr50 Ascent 760m #eMTB #eBike #BlueMountains

Not again? Yes, but different. Today I rode Snaitches, (St H, St Helena firetrail) to Lost World & Bunyan lookouts. St H runs off the Oaks & is an out and back ride. A thru hike a bike is possible, but NPWS asked us not to ride that section, so I don't. Besides, it's a bastard climb out carrying a light bike, let alone a heavy eMTB. Mostly little used, narrow firetrail, it changes to dual track towards the end, then very overgrown singletrack to the lookouts. 1/2...

A 30cm skink just now. Cropped from a larger max resolution image, so you can zoom in for lots of detail—not too far, it's only a resaved phone pic! I get lots of skinks, typically only ~10-15cm long—as you can see, they get bigger. We also get blue & pink tongues, which are longer & much wider skinks. #Skink #BlueMountains #bushlife #AltText

I rode again! Only 15km all up (12.79 shown), & frankly easy, despite a Cat 4 climb. Of course I used Es! Not all of them, though. 😁 Max HR: 153—hardly ticking compared to 166 last ride Climbing: 293m Best jump: 0.41s (pfft) The beauty of Murphy's Glen & Linda Rock is, well, the beauty. Massive eucalypts, & 180° views over the Sydney basin to the harbour bridge. Sure, mostly smoggy these days (even today, no bridge for me), but it's always nice &amp...

I'm watching Adventures of the Super Monkey—Journey to the West, on Netflix. It's a Japanese show based on the famous Chinese story, & naturally, supposedly set in China. Just before the end credits in S1:E3 roll up...& hang on a minute... [rewinds] surely not... [rewinds] Are they gums? Is that Blueys sandstone? [rewinds] I know that view! That's...that's the now closed Lincoln Rock in Wentworth Falls, just up the road. WTF? #JourneyToTheWest #Mo...

The first flowers are appearing on the frangipani! I took it from my mother-in-law's before it was sold—back in 2020. As she'd instructed years before, I snapped a piece off, stuck it in dirt to "seal", then a pot. Nothing at all for 3y. The tip was dead. Then suddenly leaves! Only little ones, but each year it got a little bigger. Still nothing much. 6mths after potting into a huge pot, it's grown 60+cm, has big leaves, branches, & flowers are...

I broke an egg. No. I rode the yolks. No. I rode the Oaks firetrail from Woodford to Glenbrook, dam heading back up. Despite a glorious day, not many others enjoying it. One guy on a road/cross/gravel bike going up as I went down & vice versa. 🤔 Thinking about it after seeing that fella the second time, was it @parbs? If so, sorry, I'd have said more than g'day! 20km of climbs to go!

Kayo has just updated in its usual trouble free style. Eventually reconnected, I navigate to replays, & the first two replays are from tomorrow. Now, I'm not a gambler, but I'm definitely watching these games right now, & getting on it. 🤔😂

I've been up for a little while. Just turned the light on & sat down for breakfast. Immediately, there's a lorikeet outside insisting it's *their* food time. It's not. Now there are a dozen on the window sill & deck rails, staring, squawking, & judging me! I've created a monster, a pretty, fluffy, squawky, rainbow monster! *it's ok, I live in the bush, there's lots of food—they don't go hungry #Rainbow...

There are times I miss J's righteous wrath. I hated being the recipient, but she was fantastic at angrily getting up slack tradies not doing what they were paid to do. Me, I'm really pissed off. System works, mostly. They made mistakes. That's ok, just fix them, & don't create more issues. "Leave it with me". So... I've just sent a gentle text about a range of issues, which are all STILL at "leave it with me" status, despite ranging from 1-6mths ol...
