@paul_ipv6 I seem to remember seeing rack servers right in the lobby and then again after getting off the elevator to their office. Besides it being a cool visual of a small data center baked into the side spaces of an ordinary building (if my memory is accurate), it makes me remember how much simpler (and lax) security once was.

@sysop408 the two original commercial ISPs, UUNET and PSI used to have annual tour of their data centers, letting anyone who showed up in. MAE-EAST was in a parking garage and unsecured for a good while. this would be like having all the DCs in Ashburn open to the public. indeed simpler times.
