I need suggestions for good horror movies. I am currently watching the Five Nights at Freddy's movie. Send help. But to be fair it is immediately better than the Mangler sequel and the scary part hasn't even started yet.

So far the main character is unlikeable but there are several even worse people. This cop lady is fucking weird and too friendly. I bet she cleans up the corpses after the security guards get horribly murdered. :NotSureIf: The killings have started! :ItsHappening: It couldn't have happened to better people (because better people don't do breaking and entering).

@Gulleko Horror as in slasher/gore or more quiet horror?

@Gulleko Pan's Labyrinth? My partner scrambled out of the cinema over the backs of several rows of seats during the first ten minutes.

@Gulleko Takashi Miike’s Audition (1999). It starts slow, basically as a weird romcom, and then suddenly takes a turn to the buck wild. There is a brief mention of past self harm and suicide attempt from a minor character. Nothing is shown, it’s never brought up again, and it’s not relevant to the plot.

@Gulleko I helped build Fangoria.com, you might find something good there.

@Gulleko "The Others" for best script. "Life" for latest one that got me thrilled. "Braindead" for neural flatlining.

@Gulleko I have watched very few horror films since 2020, unfortunately, or I’d be trying to give you some current recommendations. I wonder if any of the folks who use these hashtags might have some good horror film recommendations for you? #HorrorCommunity #Horror #Film #FilmMastodon

  • @Gulleko The recent version of “The Invisible Man” is astoundingly good. It does seem that anything might be a step up here, however.
