Honestly, I wouldn't use it at all if not for the fundamental conflict between the standard copy-paste keyboard shortcuts and terminal Ctrl-C. I use it because I need to, because it's more usable than Ctrl-Shift-C; I don't use it because I *want* to. If we made it so that terminals interpreted Ctrl-C as copy if text were selected, and only sent Ctrl-C through as an interrupt if text weren't selected, I'd happily switch to that and abandon middle-click paste.

@josh @mcdanlj I've really held out on this in Ptyxis because there are race conditions. For example, right before you ctrl+c it is possible for the clipboard to be altered and the selection dropped locally. But you _can_ go into Ptyxis preferences to the shortcuts page and set ctrl+c for copy and it should do what you are asking for here.

@josh Doesn't Shift-Insert or Ctrl-Shift-V work in your terminal emulator? I, nobody, like middle mouse button as an easy way to paste using the mouse. I like the whole second clipboard that can be filled and pasted without the keyboard. It's so typical of Gnome to disable it with an attitude and that's why I don't use Gnome anymore. @chergert @mcdanlj

@josh @chergert @mcdanlj I switched my terminals to use windows-key-c. Users of fruity keyboards will know it as command-c. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any way to switch the rest of the desktop to use the same combo.
