When the urge to transition clashes with my learned helplessness and fears about destroying my life, it feels like I've exhaled all the air from my lungs and then forced to breath through a straw. Slowly becoming starved for oxygen a panicky feeling of being stuck takes hold as I contemplate there being no exit or escape from the way things are.

@edg@mstdn.social there is no fear like the fear of transition. I literally could not get past it. It’s overwhelming and honestly I decided not to transition. Then this other part of my consciousness would take over. Most of my early transition was done in a sort of fugue state while I was consciously saying I wasn’t gonna transition. There was a whole battle inside me between two different personalities. It’s such a scary proposition that it literally broke my brain.

@edg@mstdn.social look, girl, you learned your way into this helplessness but can you learn your way out of it?
