Hey, remember when the EU decided that search engines had to pay news sites for scraping them and displaying their content in search results... Man, those were the days.

@toerror Here in Canada, to get around this law (was it a similar Canadian law? No idea!) Facebook banned all news sites from being posted by Canadian accounts. They never removed the block, so it's a still a thing that I'm not allowed to post links to news articles or news sites on FB even though they don't have to do that any more. So it's normal now that Canadians get their FB news from FB groups or dodgy unofficial news sites.. which is working out great for lovers of misinformation 😖
