@toerror Here in Canada, to get around this law (was it a similar Canadian law? No idea!) Facebook banned all news sites from being posted by Canadian accounts. They never removed the block, so it's a still a thing that I'm not allowed to post links to news articles or news sites on FB even though they don't have to do that any more. So it's normal now that Canadians get their FB news from FB groups or dodgy unofficial news sites.. which is working out great for lovers of misinformation 😖

@psychicparrot42 Oof - unintended consequences! TBH, it's always the way with the lumbering ineptitude of the state... They really need a mechanism to try stuff out and then review the changes. It is, however, a marked difference to the "Yeah, just pour it all into the slopage machine, be reet!" system we currently suffer.
