You know what I want, when watching TV and such? Separate volume controls for the different things going on. Dialogue/music, for instance. When I'm watching GDQ on YouTube, I want to adjust the game volume and the commentary volume myself. I'm watching MasterChef now, and the music is way too loud. Such a simple thing, such a useful quality-of-life feature. I hope someday people hammer out the necessary standards and make it happen.

    @Hyperlynx yes please! I want to turn up the dialogue and turn down the explosion noises in every film since the late 90s

    @Hyperlynx while I expect it would take some searching to corroborate, I seem to recall one of the benefits claimed for the change to digital broadcast TV was to have multiple soundtracks. I can't say I've ever noticed this showing up as a feature actually being used (in Australia anyway). So perhaps the point is moot, but if they were actually using that, then a mixer feature wouldn't seem hard to add.
