  Started another game of #Stellaris. Switched off fallen empires, crisis and advanced starts - I want an even playing field to murder the computer while I get to grips with the latest mechanics.   You know what I want, when watching TV and such? Separate volume controls for the different things going on. Dialogue/music, for instance. When I'm watching GDQ on YouTube, I want to adjust the game volume and the commentary volume myself. I'm watching MasterChef now, and the music is way too loud. Such a simple thing, such a useful quality-of-life feature. I hope someday people hammer out the necessary standards and make it happen.

  Putting it out there in case anyone has advice: how do I fix not sleeping well due to being physically uncomfortable in bed? What kind of profession do I need to consult to sort that out? I don't trust salespeople. If I just go to a bed shop they'll talk me into buying some garbage that won't do the job (this has happened before).   Just realised that I don't have to laboriously back up my 1.8tb OS drive nvme before I try switching my desktop to Linux, like I did with my laptop, because I have several drives. In fact, I have a 1.8tb magnetic drive that's nearly empty and a 500gb nvme that mostly has Steam games; I should just be able to move the installs from that nvme to the magnetic drive, and then install Linux on that smaller nvme, reformatting it as necessary. That would even let me preserve the Window...
