So Raycast has a fun confetti effect you can wire under a keyboard shortcut or even call from a different app via an API/URL scheme. Do other things like this exist on a Mac? Fun audio-visual effects to draw your attention or mark the end of a long background process? @mwichary@mastodon.online miss those Easter eggs in old Macs hidden by designers and developers. Also Google used to have a few, triggered by specific wording.

@mwichary@mastodon.online In the early days of macos X there was a terminal app which emulated old green + amber terminals, complete with flickering lines and distortions. A bit like the AnalogTV app mentioned earlier. And one of the nicest screensavers was the “melting screen”, where a snapshot of your current screen would ‘melt away’ until black.
