Imagine doing some sums, realizing you flubbed it, and thinking “well in the grand scheme of things what does it matter” and 5,500 years later some scholar’s like writing a research paper like “damn this guy sure was bad at math”

    There’s another instance of someone 5000 years ago burning their porridge in a pot so badly they just took it out back and buried it, maybe thinking no one would know about it, and some archeologist 5000 years later put them on blast and now everyone knows about it. Maybe the thing that makes us human is fucking up in small mostly harmless ways and hoping no one will notice

    @checkervest also let us not forget our friend Ea-Nasir who we know only for shitty copper (to be fair all we know are the complaint tablets. The copper might have been fine. But it's funnier to believe he was just a shitty merchant)
