... are invisible. You see an email that you already know what to do with, but you don’t see the button to do it! First, you have to hover, then locate where the button appears, and only then move again to click it. So it doesn’t help as much as you’d think.
Is it worth the visual noise and flickering that it produces? For me—no.

@grumpy_website This trips me up in Figma all the time, but in the opposite way: I see a tab I want to switch to, and I go click on it. Poof, the tab is gone, because the close button that is there only on hover happened to appear exactly where I clicked. Figma has on-hover buttons in many other places too for no other reason than to make the UI look “clean”, but they aren’t destructive in the same way.
