@mattiem I’m hesitant to prognosticate when I can immediately provide three nuanced and conflicting answers, all of which I believe (Fitzgerald quote implied). But the premise of your question does presuppose agreement upon definitions which we may not yet agree on. What is “software”) in this context? If the value shifts, is change in a particular direction more virtuous? Was the value correctly set to begin with?
