I really do not understand these people. If you want to shoot a large animal, surely a camera will do, and if you want a little more risk, a close up with a wide angle lens should suffice. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/apr/21/hunters-who-believe-shooting-big-game-can-save-africa-wildlife #Hunting #PigIgnorance #Inexplicable

  • @Wen People who like to kill things will look for any reason to excuse or promote their killing of things.

@Wen I think the challenge should be to hand-feed these large animals instead. 🤔 Bonus points for purrs.

@Wen Agreed. If you're close enough to photograph an animal you're close enough to shoot it with a gun. Hunting costs more money than shopping at the grocers so asides from getting rid of serious nuisances shooting animals with guns is, in most cases, a bloodsport for immature lackwits. I like stalking/hunting but photographs of animals are better trophies of the event than a head(which is a bugger to keep clean anyway).

@Wen And then pay an artist for an oil painting to hang as the trophy. @AnnaAnthro

@Wen Indeed. Anyone who wants to, should on no account be allowed to.

@Wen I mean yes, this changed between early and late Tintin era, should be well in the past now.

  • @Wen I wonder how many of these bloodthirsty idiots, who usually claim "humans are hunters!" would react if we said sure, you can hunt this lion. Only at night, when it is most active, and you can only use a native spear, not a rifle from some distance away - that's real hunting! I doubt most of them would risk it (and those that did would likely be eaten, so again, win)

@Wen If The Predator came to Earth to hunt down billionaires, how many of us would stand in the way? How many of us would eagerly accept payment to guide them?
