Love this headline: "How afraid should we be of Scotland's jellyfish?" https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8xnjx1erqdo I was expecting an article saying jellyfish are out of control, stealing people's phones & tearing up beaches by riding on illegal e-motorbikes, terrorising small businesses on the coast

The iconic Jodrell Bank to lose funding https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5y6r9rdxygo This is unbelievably foolish and short-sighted by the science council. This UNESCO listed site is a pioneer in radio astronomy, a field that, thanks to it, UK based scientists have been leaders in the field, world class scientific work for seventy years. The amount saved versus harm caused is ridiculous. As one scientist notes, this is a "colosaal act of self harm" #science #astronomy #SaveJodr...

Oh no, not Bill Oddie... Two of the three Goodies gone now. Won't mean much to younger folk, but to those of us of a certain, The Goodies were a wonderfully funny, warm light in our childhood. Sad ecky-thump. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cjejw8pq5elo #BillOddie #thegoodies

All set for post-lunch stroll & wave of fatigue washes through me. Frustrating. So an hour lying down, finally enough battery power to go out, bus rather than walk, to husband energy levels. Seat and read in Cloisters, then a very slow walk home. . #Edinburgh #Edimbourg #photography #photographie

I met this handsome fellow on the way to the bookshop this morning. Came over to me with friendly mieow, enjoyed lots of head scratches. When I started to go, get followed me, mieowing, rubbing his head on me, demanding more attention, which of course he got.l, then decided on a fun roll around. Very sad to learn we lost Sam Neill; it feels especially cruel after he endured his cancer treatment & was declared cancer free https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/crl1gk55rzet Such an amazing range of roles, from The Piano to In the Mouth of Madness to Jurassic Park to Dead Calm & more #film #SamNeill

This is a remarkable find: one of only eleven surviving "Exeter Printings" of the US Declaration of Independence found in National Archives in Kew https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/jul/03/vanishingly-rare-copy-us-declaration-independence-volunteer-uk-archives The contrast between that hope in 1776 & the degradation of the US by Trump & his friends 250 years on is painful... #HIstory #HIstoire #USA #America

After finding the lone ceramic bunny decoration on a wall the other day, I kept my eye open & spotted two more ceramic pieces just randomly attached to walls on the same dead-end of a street. The breaks on them seem very clean-cut, & there's no debris nearby, making me wonder if the cuts are deliberate rather than breakage or vandalism (doubt anyone would even notice them to vandalise, tbh) . #Edinburgh #Edimbourg #photography #photographie #art #ceramic

It's been another frustrating day of very low energy. Managed short walk, but my recovery strolls seem to be getting shorter than they were earlier in my treatment. Just struggling way more to get over the last chemo session than previous ones; frustrating and more than a little depressing. Even after short walk I still had to lie down when I got in, and despite that, still bloody tired out. It's not doing much for my mood or morale... Bunny! I have no idea why this tiny Bunny Rabbit 🐰 symbol is on a wall on a street near me. It's just randomly on one bit of tall, stone wall, so small it's easy to walk past & not notice (in fact this is the first time I have noticed!), all on its own. I do like finding random things like this & wondering how long they've been there without anyone noticing? . #Edinburgh #Edimbourg #photography #Edimbourg #rabbit #lapin
