@drmikepj My kid just turned down an invitation from a British friend to join them for eclipse-viewing in Iceland this summer--because my kid is trans, and was afraid they wouldn't be let back into the US.

@drmikepj I was told that bad landings by American pilots were always put down to "rocks on the runway" (otherwise they'd have to pay for the plane or something, this was the 1940's - 60's). Naturally, my father, who built and maintained runways didn't like that! It sounds like Greenland should put a few of those Lego looking concrete blocks on there, with a plan to remove them for genuine emergencies. And a plan to prevent the plan in case of invasion.
